Thinking gifts. Again!

So 'tis is the season for packing, and wrapping and sending.. Time to take a look at holiday decorating freebies like this humble Trader's Joe paper bag.  I turned mine into greeting cards.  There are so many other ways to incorporate it into this years recycled holidays you will be having. .  Check out these links for some more crafty ideas:

Paint Chips like you've never seen before

They even come with sentiments.

No, not the kind that falls off your wall but the kind found in paint section of let's say Home Depot.  They are perfect as GIFT-TAGS!!!  That's right.  They come in all kinds of colors to match (or not) any wrapper you will dream up.  Grab a pen, pencil, marker or what have you, scribble down the name of a lucky recipient and voilĂ  money and environment saved! It even says "Please recycle" on the back.  How awesome!

Re-use your coffee....Say WHAT?

Oh yeah! After you've made your cup of Java save those grinds and next time you shower use them as a body scrub. Not only it gets rid of all those dead cells beautifully  but it also moisturizes your freshly exfoliated derma. Sure it is a little bit messy and you and your tub will need a good rinse, but it is all worth it. ALL OF IT! And did I mention the benefits for those cellulite ridden areas? Well...coffee is a stimulant and gets your blood flowing faster, helping metabolize those fatty lumps. Lots of cosmetic companies use coffee extract in their products and now you can too. If you use organic coffee it is even better - for you and for her (The Mother Earth that is). Oh! and of course, you can store it in that container you SAVED that used to hold that ridiculously overpriced exfoliator or any old jar would do. Happy scrubbing!
XOXO

P.S. Here are some other awesome coffee grinds ideas.

Holiday...re-celebrate it

This year I have challenged my friends to a different kind of giving.  We are going to  RE-GIFT! I am so excited about it.  I already have a ton of ideas: jewelry and books for starters, then there are pictures, paintings and what have you.
SOMEONE'S TRASH IS SOMEONE ELSE'S TREASURE, RIGHT?
In addition the gifts must be wrapped in something recycled or reused.

NOTHING CAN BE BRAND NEW
 Are you game?

I should be studying but...

I constantly look for ways to cozy up my spaces.  I love art but I usually don't love the attached price tag so my walls are pretty bare...well not any more:

Total Cost for the project: $5
Total Time: 45 minutes give or take
Recycling value of the project: priceless

Cut the craft paper of your choosing into 4 inch circles
Spray CDs (one at the time) with adhesive and mount the paper circles onto it
You done!
Now to the mounting part:  anything would work, I used some foam (that I saved from some boxes but now that I really think about it, styrofoam would be best).  Cut   it into small squares and glue to the back of the CD. To mount to the wall use either two sided tape, glue dots or anything else that you have on hand.  Now you are really done.  Sit back and enjoy!
XOXO
